Coins of the Turgesh era were minted in Taraz, Suyab during the period of the Turgesh Kaganate (690-756), these were copper coins adapted to the Sogdian "kayuan tunbao" of the Tan Empire. During this period, analogous copper coins in monetary circulation in such cities as Sogd, Kesh, Bukhara and others played a significant role. These copper coins prove the intensive trade relations between the Turks and Sogdians, and the wide spread of trade with China.
The Turkic period, 8-9th centuries. Weight 2.0 g. Circumference 2.5 cm. Obverse: Sogd. in italics: "Bүy twrkys ү'ү'n pny - Money of "the holy Turgesh-kagan "pani". Reverse: the symbol of the bell. Character, inscription and coin are understandable. In the middle of the coin there is a rectangular hole.
