General information

Grave graves of rectangular shape, surrounded by flat stone flanks, called "rectangular grave" ("tile grave"), are located in the territories from eastern Mongolia to the Altai mountain ranges, from Baikal to the Gobi. Most often they are found in 3-50 pieces in one place (size 2x4m, 5x10 m). According to the tradition of these places, the head of the deceased was turned towards the East and a stone was placed under the head as a pillow. After the burial, the burial ceremony was performed, the fence was made with large flat stones. To date, more than 600 monuments of this structure have been registered in Mongolia.
