On December 5, 2023, President of the Turkic Academy Shahin Mustafayev held online meeting with President of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan (Russian Federation) Rifkat Minnikhanov.
During the meeting, promising areas of cooperation in the field of science between the two organizations were discussed. In addition, the parties emphasized the importance of implementing joint scientific projects and activities within the framework of mutually beneficial partnership.
In addition, the parties discussed the organization of the 7th meeting of the General Assembly of the Union of National Academies of Sciences of the Turkic World (UNASTW), which is to be held in Kazan in May 2024.
The President of the Academy of Sciences of Tatarstan Rifkat Minnikhanov expressed his gratitude to the Turkic Academy for accepting his proposal to hold an online meeting, and expressed interest in further strengthening the scientific partnership.
In turn, Shahin Mustafayev congratulated Rifkat Minnikhanov on his appointment to the honorable and responsible position of the President of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan and gave him detailed information about the mission and activities of the Turkic Academy. He also noted that the Academy of Sciences of Tatarstan, with its great scientific potential, makes a great contribution to strengthening the scientific ties in the Turkic world.
In addition, Vice-President of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan Ainur Timerkhanov made a presentation on the goals and activities of his organization.
Following the results of the meeting, the parties agreed to hold a preliminary meeting of the working group on the organization of the 7th meeting of the Presidium of UNASTW in March 2024.
