The festival started with a solemn procession in front of the monument to Ataturk in Alanya, which was attended by officials and dignitaries. This was followed by a festive program demonstrating the folklore, national costumes and musical culture of the Turkic peoples. The opening ceremony of the Festival was attended by the Head of the Academy Shahin Mustafayev, the mayor of Alanya Adem Murat Yucel, leaders and representatives of Turkic cooperation organizations, statesmen and public figures of the Turkic countries, as well as media representatives. The President of the Turkic Academy, who made a congratulatory speech at the ceremony, expressed his gratitude to the leadership of the city of Alanya for the invitation to take part in the important event and emphasized the importance of the Festival in strengthening the unity of the Turkic world. “As part of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Turkiye, an important step was made to emphasize the unity of the Turkic world. After all, the Republic of Turkiye has always been an example for the fraternal countries that have entered the 32nd year of their independence. Turkiye was a guiding star for all the Turkic republics striving to freedom. Therefore, the participation of the Turkic republics in the 100th anniversary of our Turkiye is undoubtedly a very important decision," said the head of the Academy. In addition, Sh. Mustafayev also spoke about the historical role of the great leader Mustafa Kemal Ataturk in the creation of the state. At the end of the ceremony, the participants viewed a special photo exhibition, as well as samples of the national costumes of the Turkic peoples, and also tasted the traditional dishes of kindred peoples. As part of the three-day festival, the public got acquainted with numerous programs demonstrating the national culture, music and dance art of the Turkic world.
