The results of the "Turkic Barometer 2023: Research on Identity and Culture Interaction in Turkic States" conducted by the Turkic Academy were announced

On 25 December 2023, a meeting was held at Gazi University's Old Senate Hall to present the findings of the "Turkic Barometer 2023: Research on Identity and Culture Interaction in Turkic States" conducted by the Turkic Academy.

President of the Turkic Academy Prof. Dr. Shahin Mustafayev, Vice Rector of Gazi University Prof. Dr. Yücel Gelişli, academicians from Türkiye and abroad attended the meeting organized by the Turkic Academy together with Gazi University Turkish World Application and Research Center (TÜRKDAM).

Delivering the opening remarks of the meeting, President of the Turkic Academy Prof. Dr. Shahin Mustafayev said that the research "Turkic Barometer 2023: Identity and Culture Interaction in Turkic States" is a valuable tool for understanding the perceptions and expectations regarding the current relations between the Turkic states. Prof. Dr. Shahin Mustafayev stated that Turkic states are becoming more and more connected to each other and that they have started to move forward together in the global arena, and expressed that such academic studies that will contribute to this process are important.

Prof. Dr. Yücel Gelişli, Vice Rector of Gazi University, emphasized that in order for the twenty-first century to be the century of Turks, realistic projections for the future should be put forward in addition to the emotional ties established between the Turkic States.

In his opening speech, Prof. Dr. Bülent Aksoy, Director of TURKDAM, gave information about the study titled "Turkic Barometer 2023 Identity and Culture Interaction in the Turkic States". He said that in order for the 21st century to be the century of Turks, it is of great importance to make realistic projects for the future.

Former Secretary General of the Turkish Presidency, Former Member of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States, Prof. Dr. Mustafa İsen mentioned that the changes in the world since the 1990s new states belonging to our civilization emerged both in Central Asia and the Balkans. Prof. Dr. Mustafa İsen explained that the Turkic States established 30 years ago have achieved great success. Prof. Dr. İsen stated that such meetings will make great contributions in terms of working together. Prof. Dr. Mustafa İsen expressed his belief that the study will have positive reflections at the international level.

Prof. Dr. Ebulfez Suleymanli from the Turkic Academy and Public Opinion Research Expert Hale Aslı Kılıç presented the general findings at the meeting. Following the presentation, a panel discussion was held to discuss the findings of the research.

Gumilyov Eurasian National University, Faculty of Social Sciences, Department of Sociology, Prof. Dr. Nurbek Omuraliyev National Academy of Sciences from The Center for Social Researsh of the Philosophy Law of the Kyrgyz Republic , Assoc. Prof. Dr. Taner Atmaca from the Department of Educational Sciences Faculty of Education of Duzce University.
