On May 3, 2023, the National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan hosted the International conference titled "Heydar Aliyev and the Turkic World" dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Heydar Aliyev, the National Leader of the Azerbaijani People. The conference was jointly organized by the Turkic Academy and the Foundation of Turkic Culture and Heritage.
The event was attended by the President of the Turkic Academy Shahin Mustafayev, President of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation Gunay Efendiyeva, Secretary General of TURKSOY Sultan Raev, Minister of Information and Public Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Darkhan Kydyrali, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kanat Tumysh, Deputy of the Milli Mejlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan Hikmet Babaoglu, statesman and public figure, Ambassador, ex-Member of the Council of Elders of OTS Myrzatai Zholdasbekov, Heads of diplomatic missions of OTS member countries in Kazakhstan, parliamentarians of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as representatives of academic circles. As part of the event, the participants of the conference were shown a fragment of the documentary film "Honorable Life" about the life and activities of the National Leader of the Azerbaijani People, G. Aliyev, prepared by the state TV channel "Qazaqstan". Opening the event with his introductory speech, the President of the Academy Sh. Mustafayev stressed that G. Aliyev was a unique personality in the centuries-old history of the statehood of Azerbaijan and the Turkic world, a symbol of the independent Azerbaijani state in recent history, and a brilliant leader who has opened wide opportunities for the development of his country and its people. Speaking about the historical merits of Heydar Aliyev, the Head of the Academy noted his contribution to the creation of structures of Turkic cooperation that have been serving the integration of fraternal countries. "Heydar Aliyev has made great efforts for the integration of the Turkic World, the rapprochement of our peoples. He made a significant contribution to the creation of cooperation organizations serving the integration of the Turkic states. It is no coincidence that the very idea of creating such organizations as the Turkic Council (nowadays the Organization of Turkic States) and the Turkic Academy was born in the ancient Nakhchivan land, the birthplace of G. Aliyev. This fact carries a great symbolic meaning," Sh.Mustafayev said. In their speeches, the participants and guests of the conference noted that the National Leader of the Azerbaijani People deeply knew the cultural and spiritual heritage of the Turkic world, he made an enormous contribution to strengthening relations among brotherly countries. They also spoke about the activities by G. Aliyev in the direction of the development of Azerbaijani culture, his contribution to the science and education of Azerbaijan, the reforms he carried out, as well as his exceptional role in the patriotic education of the country's youth. President of the Foundation of Turkic Culture and Heritage, Gunay Efendiyeva stressed the contribution by G. Aliyev to the creation of the structures of Turkic cooperation, such as TURKSOY and other integration institutions. In addition, she noted that the celebration of the 500th anniversary of the great poet Muhammad Fuzuli and the 1300 anniversary of the epic poem "Kitabi-Dede Qorqud" at the UNESCO level, as well as the organization of summits of leaders of the Turkic world are also associated with the name of G. Aliyev. In turn, the Minister of Information and Social Development of Kazakhstan Darkhan Kydyrali said that G. Aliyev greatly contributed to the close development of deep historical and cultural ties between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, since their initial stage. He also noted in his speech that during the visit of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to Kazakhstan this year, the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the prominent statesman G. Aliyev started; a number of events are to be held in Kazakhstan during this year. As the first step, the presentation of the documentary "Honorable Life", specially prepared with the support of the Ministry of Information and Public Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, has already taken place.
