President of the Turkic Academy Speaks at International Symposium Marking the 100th Anniversary of the First Turkological Congress

Today in Baku, within the framework of the Turkic World Week dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the First Turkological Congress, President of the Turkic Academy, Prof. Dr. Shahin Mustafayev delivered a speech at an International Symposium focused on the development of Turkology, linguistics, and the historical and cultural heritage of the Turkic peoples.

The symposium was organized jointly by the Turkic Academy and Baku State University.

In his address, Mustafayev emphasized the historical significance of the First Turkological Congress of 1926 as a landmark event that laid the foundations for scientific cooperation in the Turkic world in the fields of language, terminology, and a shared cultural-academic space.

The President of the Turkic Academy also highlighted the key areas of the Academy’s activities, including the implementation of projects aimed at developing a common scientific and educational space among Turkic states, conducting joint research, and strengthening academic ties within the framework of ongoing international initiatives.

The International Symposium continued the scientific program of the Turkic World Week, bringing together scholars and experts from Turkic states and other countries to discuss current issues related to the study of the shared historical, linguistic, and cultural heritage of the Turkic world.
