The Turkic Academy and Hacettepe University Strengthen Scientific Partnership

On February 26, a meeting took place in Ankara between President of the Turkic Academy Shahin Mustafayev and Rector of Hacettepe University Mehmet Cahit Güran. The parties discussed prospects for cooperation between the Academy and one of Türkiye’s leading academic and research institutions.

During the meeting, they addressed matters related to the upcoming session of the Association of Research Institutes and Centers for Archaeology of the Turkic World (ARICA), which the Turkic Academy organizes annually. The first forum was held in Samarkand in 2023, followed by Shusha in 2024. This year, the gathering of leading archaeologists is tentatively planned to take place in Türkiye, with the support of Hacettepe University, as well as several other organizations. In this context, the parties discussed opportunities for collaboration within the framework of the upcoming event.

Additionally, the meeting covered other potential areas of cooperation, including joint scientific projects, support for young researchers and the exchange of academic resources. President of the Turkic Academy emphasized the importance of partnerships with leading universities across the Turkic world, highlighting that such initiatives contribute to strengthening scientific ties and advancing research.

For his part, Rector of Hacettepe University expressed a strong interest in deepening cooperation and affirmed the university’s commitment to supporting the Turkic Academy’s initiatives aimed at studying and promoting the shared historical and cultural heritage of the Turkic peoples.
