Japanese Alashologist got acquainted with the work of the Turkic Academy

On September 25, 2022, Acting President of the International Turkic Academy Fuzuli Majidli met with a representative of the Center for Slavic-Eurasian Studies of the University of Hokkaido (Japan), Alash scholar Tomohiko Uyama. The Deputy Director of the Research Institute «Public Opinion» Ainur Mazhitova and Senior expert of the Turkic Academy Timur Kozyrev participated in the meeting.

At the bilateral meeting they discussed the directions of scientific research in the field of Turkic and Altaic studies and exchanged of views on mutual cooperation. In addition, the parties reported on their research projects and main work plans. T.Uyama, who specially visited the Academy, got acquainted with the Turkic museum and the Library fund. Professor T.Uyama highly appreciated the work of the International Turkic Academy on the scientific integration of the Turkic world and expressed gratitude for the special reception. In his turn, F.Majidli thanked Professor T.Uyama for his visit to the Academy and expressed the willingness of the Turkic Academy to implement joint projects with scientific organizations of Japan. At the end of the meeting, Acting President of the Academy presented to the guest of honor the published works of the organization regarding the history of Alash Orda. It should be noted that the Turkic Academy keeps in touch with a number of scientific centers in the field of Turkic and Oriental studies in Japan in order to expand scientific cooperation.
