Today, 24 August, the 8th Traditional Summer School of the Turkic Academy opened at Selçuk University in Konya Province, Türkiye, bringing together young researchers from the Turkic world and other countries.
The Summer School is organized in cooperation with the Turkic Academy, the Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA), and Selçuk University, with the support of local authorities and municipalities in Konya.
The opening ceremony was attended by TÜBA President Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Şeker, Vice President of the Turkic Academy Bülent Bayram, and Vice Rector of Selçuk University Zeki Bayramoğlu. The Turkic Academy has also invited leading scholars and experts from Turkic world countries with whom the Academy has maintained long-standing academic cooperation. Over the course of the week, they will deliver lectures and share their knowledge and expertise with the participants.
This year’s Summer School brings together more than 30 young researchers from 13 countries and regions — Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye, Uzbekistan, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Mongolia, Russia, North Macedonia, and Tatarstan (Russian Federation). Throughout the week, participants will attend lectures, discussions, and other academic activities aimed at expanding their professional knowledge and strengthening academic ties.
The programme of the 8th Summer School covers the history and cultural geography of the Turkic world, Turkic languages and literature, civilizational heritage, art history and architecture, as well as traditional arts.
The Summer School provides a platform for academic dialogue between young researchers and leading scholars from different countries. The programme is expected to foster new academic connections and lay the groundwork for joint research and future projects within the framework of scientific cooperation across the Turkic world.
