President of the Turkic Academy took part in the session of the Hungarian Parliament

Today President of the Turkic Academy Shahin Mustafayev participated in a special session of the Hungarian Parliament, which was convened to welcome a delegation that had traveled specifically for the Hunno-Turan Kurultai.

The event was attended by Vice-Speaker of the Hungarian Parliament Sandor Lezsák, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary General of TURKSOY Sultan Raev, Secretary General of TURKPA Mehmet Sureya Er, as well as deputies from Turkic nations and representatives of brotherly countries.

In his speech, President of the Academy emphasized the deep historical and cultural connections between the Turkic peoples and the Hungarians. He recalled the ancient nomads of the Great Steppe, such as the Huns and the Turks, who moved westward, blending with other civilizations and creating remarkable cultural achievements.

Shahin Mustafayev also highlighted the symbolic significance of holding the Hunno-Turan Kurultai within the walls of the Hungarian Parliament and expressed his gratitude to László Kövér and Sandor Lezsák for their warm hospitality.

Additionally, Mustafayev paid tribute to his late friend, Janos Kovari, the former director of the Budapest office of the Organization of Turkic States, who made an invaluable contribution to strengthening relations between Hungary and the Turkic world.

As part of the event, Vice-Speaker of the Hungarian Parliament Sandor Lezsák hosted President of the Academy and other members of the delegation in his office.
