On September 27, a presentation of the book "Karakalpak Şairi Äjiniyaz Kosıbay Ulı", published by the Turkic Academy, took place in Ankara as part of the celebration of the 200th anniversary of the great Karakalpak poet Ajiniyaz Kosibaiuly.
The event was organized by the Turkic Academy with the support of Hacı Bayram Veli University.
The event was attended by President of the Turkic Academy Shahin Mustafayev, Rector of Hacı Bayram Veli University Mehmet Naci Bostancı, as well as representatives of diplomatic missions and academic circles from Turkic countries.
In his welcoming speech, President of the Academy Shahin Mustafayev emphasized that one of the key missions of the Turkic Academy is the scholarly study and promotion of the literary and cultural heritage of Turkic peoples. He noted that exploring the works of outstanding figures like Ajiniyaz not only highlights the richness and diversity of Turkic civilization but also strengthens the bonds of brotherhood among Turkic nations.
"We are proud to contribute to the celebration of the 200th anniversary of Ajiniyaz, a great figure in Karakalpak literature, who in his works praised the unity of Turkic peoples," said Academy’s President.
Ajiniyaz, born in Karakalpakstan, was not just a local poet but a profound thinker and linguist fluent in Arabic, Persian, Kazakh and Turkmen languages. His works often centered on the shared cultural identity of the Turkic nations. His works have now been translated into Turkish by the Turkic Academy and made accessible to the Turkish public.
"This project symbolizes not only literary heritage but also our shared history and values, which unite us through art and literature," emphasized Mustafayev.
The event marked a significant step in preserving and promoting the legacy of the Turkic peoples, aligning with the Turkic Academy’s mission to deepen scientific and cultural cooperation within the Turkic world.
