Today, the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Astana hosted the grand opening of the international exhibition "Language – The Beginning of Virtue: Diwan Lughat al-Turk", dedicated to the 950th anniversary of the publication of this encyclopedic dictionary. The event was organized by the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation in collaboration with the Turkic World Foundation, with the support of Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Culture and Information.
The exhibition brought together officials, cultural ministers and public figures from across the Turkic world. Among the distinguished guests were Azerbaijan’s Minister of Culture Adil Kerimli, Kazakhstan’s Minister of Culture and Information Aida Balayeva and President of the Turkic Academy Shahin Mustafayev. President of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation Aktoty Raimkulova delivered the opening speech.

Visitors can explore the most accurate replica of “Diwan Lughat al-Turk”, its translations into Turkish and Kyrgyz, a portrait of Mahmud al-Kashgari, as well as selected words and proverbs from his renowned work.
A special section of the exhibition features reconstructed 11th-century attire for men and women, offering an immersive glimpse into the daily life and traditions of the time.
The exhibition will remain open at the National Museum of Kazakhstan, inviting visitors to discover the unique heritage of Turkic literary and cultural history.
