Today, on November 6, 2024, the 11th Meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) took place in Bishkek within the framework of the 11th Summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS).
The meeting was hosted by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Jeenbek Kulubaev. Attending the event were the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov, Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye Hakan Fidan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Peter Szijjarto.
Also present at the meeting were OTS Secretary General Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev, President of the Turkic Academy Shahin Mustafayev, Chairman of the Council of Elders of the OTS, as well as heads of TURKPA, TURKSOY, the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, the Turkic Investment Fund, and the Union of Turkic Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
The primary focus of the agenda was on preparations for the 11th OTS Summit, scheduled to be held later today. Secretary General Omuraliev provided the ministers with an overview of the key documents expected to be signed at the upcoming meeting of the Council of Heads of State.
At the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) of the Organization of Turkic States President of the Turkic Academy Shahin Mustafayev, delivered a report in which he informed about the current activities and key projects of the Academy aimed at strengthening the integration of Turkic countries in the fields of science and education. He also highlighted that over the past two years, the Academy has implemented more than 30 research and applied projects covering both the humanities and natural sciences.
The Head of the Academy also emphasized the historical significance of completing the project of the Common Turkic Alphabet, consisting of 34 characters, which was approved at the meeting of the Commission on the Unified Alphabet of the Turkic World, held in Baku from September 9-11, 2024. Shahin Mustafayev noted that this historic decision is an important step toward cultural unity among the Turkic countries.
During the discussions, the ministers focused on the agenda and program for the Council of Heads of State meeting and exchanged views on enhancing political, economic, and cultural cooperation among the member states.
