President of the Academy Took Part in the International Language Forum of the Turkic Peoples

On September 21, 2023, the International Language Forum of the Turkic Peoples started in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan.

200 scholars from Azerbaijan, Germany, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Hungary, Uzbekistan, Russia, Turkmenistan and Türkiye took part in the two-day scientific event organized by the National Commission on the State Language and Language Policy under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic with the support of the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic and the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY). The Secretary of State of the Kyrgyz Republic Suyunbek Kasmambetov, Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of the Kyrgyz Republic Nurbek Azygaliyev, Member of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States Medetkan Sherimkulov, President of the Turkic Academy Shahin Mustafayev, Secretary General of TURKSOY Sultan Raev, President of the Foundation of Turkic Culture and Heritage Gunay Efendieva, President of the Ataturk Supreme Council for Culture, Language and History Derya Örs, Chairman of the Turkish Linguistic Society Osman Mert, ambassadors of Turkic countries, statesmen, intellectuals and the media attended the opening ceremony of the Language Forum. Secretary of State Suyunbek Kasmambetov read out a congratulatory message from the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov to the participants and guests of the forum. In the congratulatory message of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic it was indicated that "State institutions and international organizations, such as TURKSOY, the Turkic Academy, the Foundation of Turkic Culture and Heritage, TIKA and the Organization of Turkic States, seeking to strengthen the unity of the Turkic world, put important issues on the agenda, and are constantly looking for solutions to them." In his opening speech, the President of the Academy, Shahin Mustafayev, spoke about the historical heritage of the Turkic peoples, such as the Orkhon-Yenisey inscriptions, "Divan Lugati-t-Turk", as well as about the works and researches of the Turkic Academy devoted to the development of a common alphabet and the study of the common history of the Turkic peoples. He also stressed that one of the most important features uniting the peoples of the Turkic world is their language, and noted that the purpose of the Turkic Academy is to support the integration of the Turkic world in the field of science and education.
