On June 20, 2023, in Bishkek, the President of the Turkic Academy Shahin Mustafayev met with the Executive Secretary of the National Commission of the Kyrgyz Republic for UNESCO Sabira Soltongeldiyeva.
The parties discussed issues of cooperation between the Academy and the National Commissions of the Turkic States for UNESCO, including the National Commission of Kyrgyzstan. During the meeting, Sh. Mustafayev noted that the Turkic Academy was ready to contribute to the process of scientific research of the monuments of the Turkic world, and called for joint work on common projects and the inclusion of cultural sites of the Turkic countries in the UNESCO World Heritage List. In turn, S. Soltongeldiyeva expressed her gratitude to the Head of the Academy for the visit, noting the importance of relations between the two organizations. She also expressing her readiness to strengthen cooperation in the field of the humanities. In addition, the issue of including the World Day of the Turkic Language (December 15) to the list of anniversary dates of UNESCO was discussed.
