Today, on August 21, a scientific and practical conference titled "The World of Al-Farabi – an Essential National Value" was held in Almaty, with the participation of the Vice President of the Turkic Academy Askhat Kessikbayev.
The event was organized by the Central Scientific Library "Gylym Ordasy" and the International Center "AL-FARABI," with support from the Turkic Academy, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and other organizations.
Among the attendees were the head of the Central Scientific Library Ular Mukazhanov, Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Almaty Evren Muderrisoglu, Deputy Director of the International Center for Rapprochement of Cultures under UNESCO Igor Krupko, along with other representatives from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
During the plenary session, Askhat Kessikbayev, speaking on behalf of the President of the Academy Shahin Mustafayev, congratulated the participants on Al-Farabi Day and conveyed his warm wishes.
The conference was dedicated to the 130th anniversary of the birth of the Alash movement figure Magzhan Zhumabayev, the 80th anniversary of cultural scholar Murat Auezov, the 50th anniversary of the V Conference of Writers from Asia and Africa held in Almaty, and the 25th anniversary of the Turkic Peoples Culture Fund.
The event, which began in the conference hall of the Al-Farabi Library at the Kazakh National University, continued with thematic discussions and cultural programs, including museum and book exhibitions.
