Scientific Seminar on "Soft Power" and Cooperation Among Turkic Countries

On September 20, with the support of the Turkic Academy, an international scientific seminar titled "Unity of Turkic Nations: Symbols, Values, Ideas" was held in Astana. The event was organized by the research institute "Public Opinion."

Leading experts from Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan gathered at the seminar to discuss common cultural symbols and values of the Turkic world, as well as potential avenues for strengthening cooperation between Turkic countries.

The seminar, part of a series of events organized by the Turkic Academy, focused on key issues related to the development of the "soft power" of Turkic countries—cultural, diplomatic and economic integration, as well as enhancing their influence on the global stage.

In his speech, Vice President of the Turkic Academy, Askhat Kessikbaev, conveyed greetings from the Academy’s President, Academician Shahin Mustafayev and underscored the importance of joint efforts among Turkic nations in the development of their "soft power."

The seminar also addressed topics related to the exchange of experience and collaboration in areas such as culture, science and tourism, which play a vital role in strengthening the Turkic world’s position. Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of projects initiated by the Turkic Academy, including the "Turkic Barometer," which explores perceptions of integration processes and the level of mutual familiarity among the peoples of Turkic states.

The seminar concluded with an active discussion, during which participants exchanged views on the role of international relations, tourism, and culture in shaping a shared identity among Turkic nations.
