On September 28, 2022, marks the 125th anniversary of the birth of an outstanding personality of the Turkic world, Kazakh writer M.O. Auezov. In this regard, an international scientific and practical conference "M.O. Auezov's Legacy and world civilization" was held in Almaty.
The event is organized by the M.O. Auezov Institute of Literature and Art, the International Turkic Academy, the international organization TÜRKSOY, the Union of Writers of Kazakhstan and the Akimat of Almaty. The conference was dedicated to determining the place and role of M. Auezov in world civilization, strengthening ties between Kazakh and world literature, understanding the history and current trends in the development of Kazakh literature, promoting advanced ideals based on universal values and the Alash paradigm in the writer's legacy. The conference began with a ceremony of laying flowers at the monument of the writer. Director of the M.O. Auezov Institute of Literature and Art Kenzhehan Matyzhanov, statesman and public figure Murat Auezov, Permanent Secretary of the International Turkic Academy Askhat Kesikbayev, U.S. Consul General in Almaty Caroline Savage, Deputy Akim of Almaty Arman Kyrykbayev, prominent folklorist, academician of the Seit Kaskabasov, national writer Olzhas Suleimenov, Director of the scientific and Cultural center "House of M.O. Auezov" Diyar Konaev, Director of the Literary and Memorial Museum of F.M. Dostoevsky Natalia Ashimbayeva, Professor of the Pedagogical University named after Nizami Kaldybek Seidanov, Professor of Baku Slavic University Nizami Mammadov, Professor of Pecha University Valentina Vegvari, as well as leading scientists, writers, intellectuals, employees of research institutes of Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Hungary, the Netherlands, South Korea, Uzbekistan, Russia and other countries, teachers and young scientists took part in the event, which was held in the "House of Friendship". Permanent Secretary of the International Turkic Academy A. Kesikbayev reported on the work of the organization to promote the heritage of Mukhtar Auezov and wished success to the conference. Within the framework of the conference, books published by the International Turkic Academy were presented: M. Auezov's scientific work "The Kyrgyz heroic epic "Manas", a complete translation of the famous novel "Abay" into Azerbaijani and the book of the famous scientist Turan Teymur "M.Auezovun Abay romanında sanatkarlıq masalaları" (in Azerbaijani). It should be noted that M. Auezov's work dedicated to the epic "Manas" was written in 1934. A copy of its finished version printed in 1936 is kept in the Manuscript Collection of the Chingiz Aitmatov Institute of Language and Literature of the National Academy of Sciences of Kyrgyzstan. As a scientific supplement, a complete facsimile of this copy was published as an appendix to the book. The collection also includes the famous report "To create a folk version of "Manas", made by M. Auezov at a conference dedicated to the study of the epic "Manas", held on June 8, 1952 in Bishkek. The famous novel of the writer "Abay Zholy" was first translated into Azerbaijani in 1954 and published in Baku. 68 years later, the novel, written in the new Azerbaijani alphabet on the initiative of the Academy, is being published again on the occasion of the writer's anniversary. In addition, the monograph of a researcher at the Institute of Literature named after Nizami of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan Turan Teymur "Artistic issues in Mukhtar Auezov's novel "Abai" is the first scientific work in the Azerbaijani language concerning the writer's work. The event will continue tomorrow, September 29, with the republican round table "Mukhtar Auezov and New Kazakhstan: the role of spiritual culture in the development of public consciousness".
