On June 19, 2023, Bishkek hosted the opening ceremony the "Summer School of Young Turkologists", organized by the Turkic Academy with the support by the Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA) and the Kyrgyz-Turkish University "Manas".
The opening ceremony of the event, held in Kyrgyzstan, was attended by Shahin Mustafayev, President of the Turkic Academy, Muzaffer Sheker, President of the Turkish Academy of Sciences, Alpaslan Ceylan, Rector of the Kyrgyz-Turkish University "Manas", well-known professors of famous universities of the Turkic world, as well as young scientists from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Hungary, Mongolia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Northern Macedonia, Northern Cyprus, Bashkortostan (RF) and Tatarstan (RF). The Head of the Turkic Academy, who delivered a welcoming speech, noted that Turkology was a value based science and aimed at modern nation-building. Therefore, it is extremely important for Turkologists, as versatile specialists and true scientists, to communicate and establish contacts, to create a unified scientific environment with a common agenda that is of great importance for the Turkic states striving for multifaceted integration. At the end of his speech, Sh. Mustafayev wished good luck and success to young scientists, and also thanked the leadership of the Turkish Academy of Sciences and the Kyrgyz-Turkish University "Manas" for their support in holding the event. It is worth noting that the "Summer School of Young Turkologists" was organized by the Turkic Academy for the first time, and aimed to support young scientists engaged in research in the fields of Turkology, Turkic history, Turkic literature, anthropology, cultural studies and archaeology. The Summer School will allow young scientists to meet each other, topresent their projects and researches, get new information, and create networks for professional purposes. Young scientists will have the opportunity to deepen their theoretical and practical knowledge of the history, archaeology, language and literature of the Turkic world, as well as to develop their skills in such interrelated areas as scientific publications, presentations and the use of research funds allocated for research. The Summer School will be held from June 19 to 26, 2023. The program will consist of daily lectures and technical seminars on the history, archaeology, language and literature of the Turkic world, include discussion sessions in working groups, as well as cultural events. Within the framework of the Summer School, courses will be held on the following subjects: The Concept of the "Turkic world", the History of the Turkic States, the Archaeology of the Turkic World, the History of Art and Thought of the Turkic World, Turkic Languages and Characteristics of Modern Turkic, the Mythology of the Turkic World, Legends and Fairy Tales of the Turkic World. At the end of the event, participants will have the opportunity to prepare their reports on the topics of the Summer School and discuss their findings with senior colleagues.
