Today, on February 26, in Astana, the President of the Turkic Academy, Shahin Mustafaev, took part in the event dedicated to the 32nd anniversary of Kozhaly Genocide, organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The gathering began with a moment of silence in memory of the victims of the 1992 Kozhaly Genocide.
After that, the national anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was sung, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to Kazakhstan Aghalar Atamoglanov opened the meeting.
In his speech, the ambassador noted that the Khojaly genocide will never be forgotten, but Azerbaijan's victory in the Second Karabakh War raised the spirits of those who suffered in those dark days and brought peace to the region.
Speaking at the meeting, the President of the Turkic Academy Mustafaev underlined that it is important to prevent such tragedies in human life.
At the end of the event, the participants visited the exhibition with historical photographs of the "Khojaly Genocide".
