“Medical Terminological Dictionary of Turkic Languages” Presented in Baku

Today, on May 12, a presentation of the two-volume Medical Terminological Dictionary of Turkic Languages, prepared by the Turkic Academy, was held in Baku at Azerbaijan Medical University.

The publication is a systematized terminological resource covering medical vocabulary across nine Turkic languages and is aimed at advancing scientific and professional communication within the Turkic world.

The event was attended by President of the Turkic Academy, Prof. Dr. Shahin Mustafayev, President of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences Isa Habibeyli, Deputy Chair of the Terminology Commission under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan Sayaly Sadykova, Head of the Office of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation Fakhri Hajiyev, Member of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Deputy Chair of the Committee on Culture Gunay Efendiyeva, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan Alim Bayel, Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Azerbaijan Maksat Mamytkanov, Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Azerbaijan Bahrom Ashrafkhanov, as well as representatives of the academic community and medical specialists.

In his opening remarks, Mustafayev emphasized that the formation of a common terminological space is one of the key directions of intellectual integration among Turkic states.

He noted that the Turkic Academy consistently implements scientific projects aimed at strengthening linguistic, cultural, and academic ties among Turkic peoples.

It was also highlighted that the Academy has previously prepared and published terminological dictionaries in the fields of ecology, linguistics, economics, military affairs, and diplomacy. The new two-volume publication continues this systematic scholarly work.

Participants underlined that the development of unified terminological resources not only enhances scientific cooperation but also contributes to the formation of a shared professional communication space across the Turkic world.
