On October 3, 2009, at the IX Summit of the Heads of Turkic-speaking states in the city of Nakhchivan of the Republic of Azerbaijan, a historic decision was made, and the foundation of an integration structure was laid, striving to strengthen the unity of fraternal Turkic peoples.
Thus, at the Summit in Nakhchivan, it was decided to create a Turkic Council, a Turkic Academy, a Foundation for Turkic Culture and Heritage, and a Council of Elders. Since then, fraternal ties have strengthened, the structures listed above have become stronger, organizations such as TURKSOY and TurkPA have also strengthened their work.
