Today, on July 30, President of the Turkic Academy Shahin Mustafayev participated in an online meeting to prepare for the nomination of Caspian-Volga corridor sites for inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage List under the Serial Nomination of the Silk Road.
The meeting was attended by representatives from the UNESCO World Heritage Centre, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the International Institute for Central Asian Studies, also experts from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan and Japan.
Participants discussed the progress of the Phase III of the UNESCO/Japanese Funds-in-Trust project “Support Silk Roads World Heritage Nomination Process”.
During the discussions, the Azerbaijani delegation's proposal to hold the Second Sub-regional Conference, "Silk Road: Caspian-Volga Corridor," in Baku later this year was endorsed.
