Turkic Academy Delegation Visited Key Archaeological Sites in Mongolia

Today, on 4 July, a delegation of the Turkic Academy carried out a working visit to Mongolia within the framework of a joint scientific and archaeological project with the Institute of Archaeology of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences.

Vice-Presidents of the Turkic Academy, Askhat Kessikbayev and Bülent Bayram, familiarized themselves with key historical and archaeological sites in the region, including the ancient cities of Kharkhorin and Kharbalgas, the memorial complexes of Bilge Khagan and Kül Tegin, as well as the “Khöshöö Tsaidam” Museum.

The visit formed part of a long-term research project in the Nomgon Valley, where joint excavations by the Turkic Academy and Mongolian archaeologists have been conducted since 2019. These studies are aimed at exploring the early medieval history of Turkic states and preserving the region’s unique archaeological heritage.
