Chairman of the Board of the WOSCU Firdavs Abdukhalikov, President of the Turkic Academy Shahin Mustafayev, Secretary General of TURKSOY Sultan Raev, Chairman of the Institute of Central Asia and the Caucasus (USA) Frederick Starr, Director General of IRCICA Mahmud Erol Kilich, Head of the UNESCO Representative Office in Uzbekistan Sarah Nosadi and others delivered welcoming speeches at the opening ceremony of the Congress.
The speakers thanked the guests for their participation in the Congress. They stressed the importance and necessity of such forums that consolidate the world scientific community, and also welcomed the efforts by the Government of Uzbekistan headed by the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to preserve, study and popularize cultural heritage.
In his speech, the Head of the Turkic Academy Sh. Mustafayev emphasized that the cultural and historical phenomenon of Central Asia is a product of the synergy of spiritual and material culture of all peoples who inhabited the region for centuries and millennia, as well as influenced its development. He also noted that it is the unity of the peoples of the region, comprehensive cooperation and mutual support of its states that will guarantee a Renaissance in Central Asia in the present and future, the preservation and development of its rich culture.
Within the framework of the Congress, an award ceremony was given archaeologists and orientalists. The President of the Turkic Academy Sh. Mustafayev was given the award of the WOSCU.
The event continued with panel sessions, during which such topics as "Masterpieces of the handwritten heritage of the East in the projects of the World Society", "Archaeological and architectural monuments of Uzbekistan: a question of study and preservation", as well as a panel session organized by TURKSOY "The world of cinema and Media: a new look at the heritage" and others were discussed.
It is worth noting that over 300 world-renowned experts from 40 countries, as well as representatives of international organizations, took part in the Congress. This year, the Congress presented new volumes of albums from the series "Cultural Heritage in the collections of the world", dedicated to the collections of cultural heritage of Uzbekistan from Azerbaijan, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia (in particular, Tatarstan), Turkey and Uzbekistan.
At the end of the Congress "Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan – the foundation of a new Renaissance", the participants summed up the results of their work, and then signed a memorandum.
