The Head of the Academy took part in the international scientific and practical conference "Sultan Beybars and his place in Turkic history"

On February 24, the L.N. Gumilev Eurasian National University hosted the international scientific and practical conference "Sultan Beybars and his place in Turkic history", dedicated to the 800th anniversary of Sultan Beybars.

The conference was attended by the President of the Turkic Academy Shahin Mustafayev, Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek, Minister of Information and Public Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Darkhan Kydyrali, Minister of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askhat Oralov, Rector of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian University Yerlan Sydykov, as well as well-known public figures, representatives of diplomatic missions, scientific and creative intelligentsia of Kazakhstan and foreign countries. This conference opened a series of events dedicated to the 800th anniversary of the outstanding historical figure. Its main purpose is to study and introduce into scientific circulation the latest information about Sultan Beybars, popularization of his heritage among the younger generation. The President of the Turkic Academy Sh. Mustafayev stressed that Sultan Beybars is an outstanding personality of the Turkic people. "Kazakhstan's decision to celebrate the 800th anniversary of Sultan Beybars at the highest level is a good initiative. The biography of Sultan Beybars is closely connected with Desht-i-Kipchak that is the Kazakh steppe. He is an outstanding personality who has made a huge contribution to the protection of Islamic civilization," said the Head of the Academy. Minister S. Nurbek noted that Sultan Beybars left an indelible mark in history as a wise leader, an outstanding commander. "It is very important to hold such conferences, as young people know little about it. We need to explore the heritage of our ancestors and pass it on to the next generations," the Minister said. D. Kydyrali dwelled on the role of the Turkic peoples in the world history, noting their wisdom and desire for justice. A. Oralov in his speech stressed the value of such conferences, which allow us to piece together a detailed picture of the past and learn a lot of new things. During the conference, domestic and foreign scientists spoke on the image of Sultan Beybars in history and art, his diplomacy, personal appearance as a model for modern youth, the civilization of the Great Steppe and the Kipchak factor. There were also reports by Academician Bolat Kumekov, researcher at the Abu Hanifa Research Center of Nur-Mubarak University Saki Kairat, professors of L.N. Gumilev Eurasian National University Satay Syzdykov, Zhambyl Artykbayev, Sailau Batyrshauly and others.
