In his address at the opening, President of the Turkic Academy Shahin Mustafayev highlighted Hungary’s special role in the development of Turkic studies, recalling the contributions of outstanding Hungarian scholars such as Ármin Vámbéry, György Almásy, Gyula Németh, and István Kongur Mandoki, whose works built enduring scholarly bridges between the Hungarian and Turkic peoples.

The Academy’s president also spoke about its ongoing projects—ranging from archaeological expeditions and cataloguing ancient Turkic monuments to publications on intellectual heritage and contemporary research in economics, ecology, and sustainable development. He underlined the particular importance of Hungary’s participation in these initiatives.
