On April 30, 2023, the President of the Turkic Academy, Shahin Mustafayev, took part in Tashkent as an international observer in holding the national referendum on the draft Constitutional Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan".
International observers monitored polling stations in the city of Tashkent in accordance with individual routes. As part of the observer mission, the Head of the Academy gave an interview to a number of Uzbek TV channels, during which he shared his observations of the elections in Uzbekistan. In an interview with journalists, Sh. Mustafayev noted the good professional skills of the Central Election Commission of Uzbekistan, the high turnout of the referendum participants, also that the voting process was held with maximum compliance with the requirements of the legislation. Election monitoring was conducted on the basis of the invitation by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan. About 400 international observers from 50 countries took part in monitoring the voting process.
