On May 8, in Astana, President of the Turkic Academy, Prof. Dr. Shahin Mustafayev met with Advisor to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Science and Innovation, Prof. Kunsulu Zakarya.
During her visit to the Turkic Academy, President Mustafayev presented the organization’s key areas of activity, emphasizing Kazakhstan’s significant contribution—along with its scholars—to advancing scientific initiatives and strengthening academic cooperation.
The discussion focused in particular on the Academy’s research projects aimed at the study, systematization and promotion of the shared historical and cultural heritage of the Turkic peoples. Among such initiatives are the cataloguing of Turkic written monuments, the development of terminological dictionaries and the publication of works dedicated to milestone anniversaries of prominent figures of the Turkic world. In this context, a recent publication marking the 180th anniversary of Abay Kunanbayev was presented, which was translated into Azerbaijani and reissued in Latin script, with its launch recently held at a special event in Baku.
Professor Kunsulu Zakarya expressed her appreciation for the comprehensive introduction to the Academy’s work and commended its efforts, noting the high academic standards of its ongoing projects. She also underscored the importance of strengthening scientific collaboration among Turkic states and affirmed her readiness to support the initiatives of the Turkic Academy and facilitate greater engagement with the Kazakh scientific community.
The meeting concluded with an exchange of books as a gesture of mutual respect, symbolizing a shared commitment to deepening scholarly and cultural ties.
