Today, on November 30, an international roundtable titled “National Sports of Turkic Peoples: Historical and Cultural Reference Points, Values, Practices” was held at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
The event was organized by the Turkic Academy in collaboration with Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, the Al-Farabi Center and the Kazakh Committee of the Philosophical Society of Turkic Peoples.
The roundtable brought together scholars, researchers and cultural representatives to discuss the philosophical, historical and cultural dimensions of national sports and traditional games of Turkic peoples. Special emphasis was placed on the origins and development of ethnosports, their cultural and philosophical significance, pressing issues related to the revival of traditional games and the socio-historical prospects tied to the upcoming V World Nomad Games in Astana.
The Turkic Academy continues to support initiatives aimed at studying and promoting the traditions of Turkic peoples, including ethnosports and national games.
Academic papers presented during the roundtable will be included in an electronic conference proceedings collection, serving as a valuable resource for further research in this area.
