Today, on May 18, the world community celebrates the International Museum Day. More than 140 countries are participating in the celebrations of this day, which was determined by the decision of the International Council of Museums (ICOM) in 1977.
Museums are the guardians of human history and ancient heritage. Museums are also of great importance for all Turkic peoples with a deep-rooted history. It should be noted that many historical and cultural heritage belonging to the brotherly peoples of the Turkic World are kept in the Turkic History Museum of the Turkic Academy. Among them are exhibits of ancient archeology (from the IV-III millennium BC) and ethnography (XIX century). In addition, the Turkic Academy adds new ones to the ancient heritage list as a result of the archaeological excavations it carries out every year. On the occasion of this special day, we sincerely congratulate all museum staff in sister countries and wish them success in their work. Happy International Museum Day!
