On November 13, a solemn presentation of two books published by the Turkic Academy in honor of the 200th anniversary of the great Karakalpak poet Ajiniyaz Kosybay Uly took place at Berdakh Karakalpak State University in Nukus, Uzbekistan. His works were presented in translations into Turkish and Azerbaijani under the titles: "Karakalpak Şairi Äjiniyaz Kosıbay Ulı" and "Hacıniyaz Kosıbay oğlu: Bəylər, Tərif Edim Qalpaq Yurdunu."
The event brought together scholars and cultural figures from Turkic countries. During the presentation, speeches were made by President of the Turkic Academy Shahin Mustafayev, Rector of Karakalpak State University named after Berdakh Akhmet Reymov, Senior Researcher of the Institute of Manuscripts named after Muhammad Fuzuli of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences Nazaket Mamedli, Director of the Institute of Language and Literature named after Ch. Aytmatov of the National Academy of Sciences of Kyrgyzstan Abdildajan Akhmataliev, and Professor of Haji Bayram Veli University (Türkiye) Huseyin Yildirim.
In his speech, President of the Turkic Academy Shahin Mustafayev emphasized that since its foundation, the Turkic Academy has been conducting scientific research into the literary and cultural heritage of the Turkic peoples, presenting the results of these studies to the attention of the scientific community and the broader public of Turkic countries.
"Ajiniyaz is an outstanding representative of Karakalpak literature, drawing inspiration from our shared cultural and spiritual values and emphasizing the unity of the Turkic peoples. He is not only the poet of the Karakalpak people but also of the entire Turkic world," said Mustafayev.
The Academy President expressed his gratitude to Mamedli and Yildirim for their contribution to the publication of Ajiniyaz's poetry in Türkiye and Azerbaijan, emphasizing that the great poet’s verses are now available to readers in brotherly Turkic countries.
At the close of the event, University Rector Akhmet Reymov presented the Turkic Academy with a seven-volume Explanatory Dictionary of the Karakalpak Language as a gift.
