An event marking the 100th anniversary of Academician Abduali Kaidar, a distinguished Turkologist, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor and member of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, was held in Almaty.
The International Congress titled "Culture – Civilization – Humanitarian Science in the Context of Globalization: Language, Ethnicity, Society" was organized by the Akhmet Baitursynuly Institute of Linguistics in cooperation with Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and with the support of the Turkic Academy.
The Congress brought together public figures and scholars specializing in linguistics, Turkology and philology from Azerbaijan, Belgium, Kazakhstan, Russia (including Bashkortostan), Tajikistan and Türkiye.
During the plenary session, Advisor to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Malik Otarbayev read a congratulatory letter on behalf of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
Ainur Mayemerova, an expert from the Turkic Academy, delivered a welcome address on behalf of the Academy's President Shahin Mustafayev. In his remarks, the head of the Academy emphasized that Abduali Kaidar's work laid the foundation for further research in several key fields and that his scholarly legacy is of paramount importance to the development of Turkological science.
Throughout the Congress, discussions centered on new scientific paradigms in linguistics and Turkology, drawing inspiration from the rich scholarly heritage of the academician.
It is worth noting that Abduali Kaidar's personal collection of books is preserved in the library of the Turkic Academy, while his personal belongings and some of his manuscripts hold a place of honor in the Academy's Museum.
The Turkic Academy also contributed to the publication of Abduali Kaidar's works, including his fundamental monograph "The Development of the Uyghur Language's Vocabulary."
