On September 5, an online conference titled "Northern Trade and Military Routes in the Turkic and Uyghur Eras" took place, supported by the Turkic Academy. The event was co-organized by the Mongolian State University and the Mongolian Institute of Archaeology.
Scholars and experts from Turkic countries and Mongolia delivered reports during the conference.
The purpose of the event, which is part of the Turkic Academy’s projects, was to discuss and analyze the significance of the northern trade and military routes that connected various Turkic states in ancient times. The conference provided a unique platform for exchanging opinions and sharing the latest achievements in archaeology, history, and culture, as well as for deepening the understanding of inter-civilizational interactions during this historical period.
In his speech, Vice President of the Academy A. Kesikbayev conveyed the warm greetings of the President of the Turkic Academy, Academician Shahin Mustafayev, to the participants. He also presented the significant achievements and ongoing projects of the Turkic Academy, emphasizing the importance of international cooperation in the fields of archaeology and history.
Since its inception, the Turkic Academy has signed several cooperation agreements with leading academic institutions in Mongolia. These agreements have facilitated key projects, such as archaeological research at Kok-Turk period sites, including "Shiveet Ulaan," "Nomgon," "Khayaahudag," and "Gunburd."
Special attention was given to the recent discovery of an ancient Turkic inscription on the stele from the "Nomgon-2" complex, which has become a significant contribution to the field of Turkology.
The Turkic Academy continues to actively develop international cooperation and implement scientific projects, promoting Turkological research related to the Turkic world.
