The event brought together leaders of Turkic cooperation organizations and prominent scholars from Turkic countries to discuss key issues and shared goals.
During the panel session titled "Current Situation and Future Prospects of Turkic Cooperation," moderated by the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Kubanychbek Omuraliyev, participants highlighted significant achievements in transportation, energy and digitalization, and how these sectors have strengthened ties among Turkic states.
In his speech, Shahin Mustafayev emphasized the historical significance of the 2009 Nakhchivan Agreement, calling it a pivotal moment in establishing stable and institutionalized cooperation between Turkic countries. He also highlighted the Turkic Academy’s achievements over the past two years, which included the implementation of 36 major scientific projects covering history, archaeology, ethnology, linguistics and the arts.
Mustafayev particularly focused on efforts to explore the shared Turkic history, citing archaeological excavations of Kok-Turk monuments in Mongolia and the study of Oghuz artifacts along the Syr Darya River in Kazakhstan as key examples of the Academy’s work.
Additionally, he underscored the importance of creating terminological dictionaries to enhance communication among Turkic states and the adoption of a unified Turkic alphabet based on the Latin script, which he described as a crucial step in cultural integration.
Concluding his remarks, Mustafayev noted that despite the progress made, there is still significant work ahead to further strengthen cooperation among Turkic nations for a shared future.
