The scientific and technical potential of the Turkic world has been discussed

On December 26, 2023, the Turkic Academy and the Scientific and Technological Research Council of the Republic of Türkiye (TÜBITAK), with the support by the Secretariat of the Organization of Turkic States, held a working meeting on the topic "Multilateral scientific cooperation and cooperation among Turkic states in overcoming regional and global threats".

The opening ceremony was attended by the President of the Turkic Academy, Prof. Dr. Shahin Mustafayev, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Kubanychbek Omuraliev, the President of TÜBITAK, Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal.

Then the meeting continued in several thematic areas.

During the first session, the parties discussed their countries' scientific and technological potentials and put forward their proposals to strengthen mutual cooperation.

In particular, the Ministry of Education and Science, the National Academy of Sciences, the Science Foundation of Azerbaijan, the Academy of Sciences and the Council for Scientific and Technological Research of Türkiye, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education and the National Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Education and Science and the National Academy of Sciences of Kyrgyzstan, scientists of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Academy of Sciences of Tatarstan (RF), as well as representatives of research institutes in the field of natural sciences actively participated and expressed their thoughts on strengthening scientific integration of the fraternal countries.

At the second session, the parties discussed issues related to overcoming regional and global threats through the development of multilateral scientific cooperation among the Turkish states. Prof. Dr. Aziz Sanjar, Nobel Laureate, professor at the University of North Carolina, took part in the meeting online and shared his thoughts on the issue.

After that, the participants freely discussed the opportunities of creating common platforms in the field of science and technology.

Undoubtedly, in the modern conditions of globalization, rapidly developing technologies and science require comprehensive integration ties. In this regard, it is very important that scientists from neighboring countries share their experience and implement common projects. The participating parties expressed gratitude to the organizers of the fruitful meeting and noted that such meetings should be continued in the future.
