Strategy of Development of the Turkic World Discussed in Tashkent

Tashkent hosted a conference of leading national think tanks from the member states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS). The event was organized by the Center for Economic Research and Reforms under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Participants included Vice President of the Turkic Academy Askhat Kessikbayev, Deputy Secretary General of the OTS Merey Mukazhan, Director of the Center for Economic Research and Reforms Obid Khakimov, as well as representatives of analytical institutions from OTS member countries and international experts.

Speaking on behalf of the President of the Turkic Academy, Prof. Dr. Shahin Mustafayev, Askhat Kesikbayev highlighted the Academy’s ongoing efforts to promote scientific integration across the Turkic world. He provided an overview of the Academy’s coordinated projects and annual analytical reports, with a special focus on two recent economic publications:

“Turkic Economies 2023: Digital Trade and Investment” “Strengthening Transport and Energy Connectivity among Turkic States – 2024”

The conference featured breakout sessions dedicated to pressing topics, including new approaches to economic policy, deepening regional cooperation and implementing joint initiatives in the face of global challenges.

At the conclusion of the event, the Turkic Academy and the Center for Economic Research and Reforms signed a Memorandum of Scientific Cooperation.
