The Turkic Academy and the Institute of History and Archeology of the MAS agreed to strengthen cooperation relations

On August 24, 2022, within the framework of his visit to Mongolia, the meeting of the President of the International Turkic Academy Darkhan Kydyrali with the President of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences Dugarin Ragdel and the Director of the Institute of History and Archeology of the Academy of Sciences, Gelegdorj Eregzen took place.

During the meeting, the parties highly appreciated the Turkic-Mongolian cooperation and its results, and also exchanged views on future projects. In addition, an agreement was signed on the implementation of joint scientific projects between the Turkic Academy and the Institute of History and Archeology of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences. The memorandum was signed by the head of the Academy D. Kydyrali and the director of the Institute of Archeology G. Eregzen. At the end of the meeting, President of the Academy D. Kydyrali expressed his gratitude for the successful results of the joint long-term educational and research work. G. Eregzen was awarded the Wilhelm Thomsen Medal, and the head of the Mongolian research group, Dr. (PhD) A. Enkhtor, the Gold Medal of the Turkic Academy. In addition, D. Kydyrali donated valuable books published by the Turkic Academy in the Mongolian direction to the library fund of the MAS. It should be noted that since 2014, the International Turkic Academy, together with the Institute of History and Archeology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, has been conducting researching work in the historical complexes of Shiveet-Ulaan in the Bulgan region and Nomgon in the Arkhangai region. In 2022 during, the researching work within the framework of the project, a new monument with ancient Turkic runic and Sogdian inscriptions was discovered in the Nomgon ritual complex, built up for the Turkic Kutlug Khagan. This is one of the most important scientific discoveries of recent years. In connection with this significant event, the President of the International Turkic Academy Darkhan Kydyrali visited Mongolia, where he got acquainted with new artifacts, founded in the Nomgon complex.
