On May 3, 2025, an international panel session titled “Unity in Language, Thought, and Action: The Future of the Turkic World” was held at the Heydar Aliyev Center in Baku. The event was organized by the Directorate of Communications of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye and marked the Day of Solidarity of the Turkic World.
Participants included Vice President of the Turkic Academy Askhat Kessikbayev, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Azerbaijan Birol Akgün, Director of the Agency for State Support to NGOs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Aygun Aliyeva, and other representatives from the member and observer states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS). The primary focus of the session was to address current challenges and explore strategic directions for the future of the Turkic world.
In his address, Kessikbayev conveyed greetings on behalf of the President of the Turkic Academy, Prof. Dr. Shahin Mustafayev and highlighted the Academy’s major initiatives aimed at strengthening the shared scientific and cultural space across Turkic countries. He emphasized the significance of drafting a comprehensive academic “History of Turkic States” and the adoption of the Common Turkic Alphabet, officially approved in 2024.
Panel discussions also addressed key topics such as humanitarian diplomacy, cultural cooperation, digital transformation in the Turkic world and the development of a unified vision for its future.
