President of the Turkic Academy Participated in the IICAS Meeting in Samarkand

On November 1-2, the 28th Meeting of the Academic Council of the International Institute for Central Asian Studies (IICAS) was held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. The event was dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Institute’s founding.

The Academic Council meeting and the anniversary events, held under the theme “The Heritage of the Silk Road: Past, Present, and Future,” brought together representatives of academic and research circles from Central Asian and Turkic countries, as well as international organizations and research centers.

President of the Turkic Academy, Prof. Dr. Shahin Mustafayev, took part in the meeting of the Academic Council and delivered a congratulatory address on behalf of the Academy, highlighting the important role of MIСAIS as a platform that strengthens scientific cooperation and mutual understanding among the countries of the region.

Representatives of UNESCO and the National Commissions for UNESCO of Central Asian countries, Iran, and the Republic of Korea also delivered speeches, noting the Institute’s significant contribution to fostering scientific dialogue and cultural cooperation in the region.

During the meeting, participants discussed current priorities in studying and preserving the historical and cultural heritage of the region, as well as the prospects for developing joint scientific initiatives and strengthening academic cooperation among Central Asian countries.

The Turkic Academy and IICAS are partner institutions that have successfully collaborated for many years in implementing joint research and publishing projects involving scholars from Central Asia and leading scientific centers around the world.
