ICESCO Delegation Pays Official Visit to the Turkic Academy

On September 18, the Turkic Academy welcomed an official delegation from the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO).

The delegation was led by ICESCO Director-General Salim M. AlMalik and included Head of the Partnerships and International Cooperation Sector Anar Karimov, Director of ICESCO’s Regional Office in Baku Abdulhakim Al-Senan, and Deputy Director of the Office Maryam Gafarzade.

President of the Turkic Academy, Prof. Dr. Shahin Mustafayev presented the guests with an overview of the Academy’s activities, key scientific projects, and major initiatives. As part of the visit, the ICESCO representatives toured the Academy’s museum, where they explored unique artifacts of the Turkic peoples’ traditional culture, including national costumes, jewelry, and household items. Special attention was also given to the Academy’s publications: guests were introduced to the latest scholarly works dedicated to the history, culture, and literature of the Turkic world.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed prospects for cooperation in the fields of science, education, and culture, emphasizing the importance of expanding joint projects and strengthening the exchange of expertise.

The talks concluded with the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation, opening new opportunities for the implementation of joint initiatives at the international level.
