The novel was first translated into the related Azerbaijani language in 1954 and published in Baku. This year, the Turkic Academy published the novel "Abai" in the modern Azerbaijani alphabet, timed to coincide with the 125th anniversary of the prominent writer. After 68 years, the epic novel presented to readers will be handed over to libraries and scientific organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The novel through the life of the great poet Abai Kunanbayev comprehensively reflects an entire epoch in the history of the Kazakh people on the eve of the Soviet period. The work has been translated into more than 120 languages of the world. It is worth noting that the event was attended by Director of the M.O. Auezov Institute of Literature and Art Kenzhehan Matyzhanov, statesman and public figure, son of the writer Murat Auezov, Permanent Secretary of the International Turkic Academy Askhat Kesikbayev, U.S. Consul General in Almaty Caroline Savage, Deputy Akim of Almaty Arman Kyrykbayev, outstanding folklorist academician Seit Kaskabasov, national writer Olzhas Suleimenov, Director of the Scientific and Cultural Center "House of M.O. Auezov" Diyar Kunaev, Director of the Literary and Memorial Museum of F.M. Dostoevsky Natalia Ashimbayeva, Professor of the Pedagogical University named after Nizami Kaldybek Seidanov, Professor of Baku Slavic University Nizami Mammadov, Professor of Pecha University Valentina Vegvari, as well as leading scientists, writers, intellectuals, researchers of research institutes, teachers and young scientists from Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Hungary, South Korea, Russia, the Netherland and other countries.
